Sequences – Course Description

Our Zouk Jena Special “Sequences” focuses on flowy step combinations to create the most fun out of your Zouk basics! Dive deep into smooth transitions between the fundamental puzzle pieces and figures that our beloved dance offers. Together, we’ll break open known patterns and explore endless traveling possibilities while keeping rhythm and flow. This weekend gives us ample time to immerse ourselves in the details of communication through leading and following, positioning and grounding, plus plenty of practice to evolve your dance.

Date: 03. – 04.08.2024

Time: 11:00 – 17:30 (including 1.5 h break); please arrive at least 15 minutes earlier.

Location: Tanzhaus Jena, Camsdorfer Ufer 17

Course Highlights:

• 8 hours of class + 2 hours of assisted practice
• “Keep the flow” – endless step combinations
• Transitions between moves
• Grounding and weight shifts
• Communication through leading and following

What You (Don’t) Need:

• Knowledge of Zouk basic steps is required (having completed a Beginners or Quickstarter Course).
• You don’t need to know head movements.
• You don’t need to bring a dance partner.
• Please bring flat dance shoes if available; otherwise, socks are also fine.
• Coffee and snacks will be provided.
